About the position

The Cloud Technical Account Manager (TAM) for Strategic Industries at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for providing technical guidance and support to enterprise-level customers, helping them maximize the value of AWS services. This role involves acting as the principal technical advisor, advocating for customer needs, and ensuring operational health of their AWS environments. The TAM will engage with customers to understand their business challenges and craft strategies for adopting AWS technologies, while also driving discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal technical advisor and 'voice of the customer' for enterprise-level clients.
  • Craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption and use of AWS services.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Engage with senior leadership to discuss incidents, trade-offs, and support management.
  • Understand customer business needs and technical challenges to provide tailored solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience in Information Technology operations.
  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS databases.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with experience presenting to executive teams.
  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its application.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Development experience in a distributed systems environment.
  • Experience with other cloud offerings.
