About The Position

This position is responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions, and carrying out both administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider. The role is instrumental in helping patients feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient's visit.

Requirements

• Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as a LPN/MA/EMT obtained through professional MA/LPN/EMT work experience or completion of student clinical rotations.

Nice To Haves

• Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant
• Current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Current experience as an Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

Responsibilities

• Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
• Coordinate provider schedules and appointments, enter orders, and prepare patient charts.
• Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
• Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in-office procedures and prepare and administer medications/immunizations.
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards and ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.
