About the position

Responsibilities

  • Create measurement programs for the CMM based on engineering drawings, CAD models, or specifications, using GD&T principles and selecting appropriate measurement strategies.
  • Calibrate the CMM regularly to ensure accuracy and set up the machine for specific tasks, including fixture design and alignment.
  • Operate the CMM to measure dimensions, geometries, and surface characteristics of parts, ensuring conformance to engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Analyze measurement data to identify trends, deviations, and potential quality issues, using statistical methods and software tools to determine part acceptance or rejection.
  • Document measurement procedures and results, generate inspection reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders such as production teams, quality assurance, or customers.
  • Troubleshoot CMM issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure the machine's optimal performance and reliability.
  • Use Lean tools and principles to eliminate waste and improve process efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality control or manufacturing.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience with CMM programming and operation.
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles and CAD.
