About the position

The Quality Inspector position at a rapidly growing machining operation in Paramount, CA, involves ensuring the precision and excellence of products across various industries, including aerospace and automotive. The role requires close collaboration with the Inspection Manager and focuses on inspecting precision parts, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to a positive work environment that promotes growth and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to verify conformance to customer requirements and internal processing standards using precision measuring instruments.
  • Identify and report any non-conforming or out-of-specification parts for corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including measurements, findings, and observations.
  • Generate inspection reports and documentation for each batch of machined parts, highlighting any discrepancies or issues.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
  • Ensure the proper calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to guarantee accurate measurements.
  • Assist in the calibration schedule and record-keeping for all inspection tools and equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes, reduce defects, and increase efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical engineering, machining, or a related field is preferred.
  • AS9100 & ISO 9001 experience is necessary.
  • Minimum one year of experience as a Mechanical Inspector or Quality Control Inspector in a CNC machine shop or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for identifying discrepancies and defects.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
