About the position

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of 3, 4, and 5 axis Haas CNC Machines. This role involves checking first parts using precision measuring and hand tools, while also supervising production employees to ensure proficient performance. The operator will lead by example, motivating the team through effective interpersonal skills and personal example.

Responsibilities

• Configure mills and lathes by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation.
• Load machines with work pieces.
• Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces.
• Maintain specifications by observing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, and troubleshooting processes.
• Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
• Meet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
• Ensure employees follow all safety and operating procedures.
• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team.
• Status parts and work reports.
• Open and close the manufacturing plant when required.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years experience in an aerospace/aircraft machine shop setting.
• Experience with Multi-Axis CNC Machines is a must.
• 2 years in a Supervisory role.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Familiar with safety standards and PPE utilized in a manufacturing setting.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Proficient in blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision.
• Problem-solving skills are a must.
• Strong communication skills and a good eye for detail.
