About the position

Kelly Services is seeking a permanent CNC Machine Operator to join a leader in the manufacturing and servicing of the fluid motion control industry in Woodridge, Illinois. This position is a direct hire opportunity, meaning successful candidates will be permanently employed by our client and will receive a competitive benefits and vacation package upon hire. The CNC Machine Operator will work the second shift, which runs from Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. The role offers a salary range of $26 to $35 per hour, depending on skills and experience. New hires are also eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2500. In this role, the CNC Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines to produce precision parts and instruments. The operator will also maintain and repair equipment, including troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance. Additionally, the operator will fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machines. The ability to interpret and use precision measuring equipment, such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges, is essential to ensure that work meets customer requirements and standards. Reading and interpreting blueprints, geometric tolerances, and drawings will also be a key part of the job. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate a variety of machines to produce precision parts and instruments.
  • Maintain and repair equipment including troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
  • Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools and/or maintain industrial machines.
  • Interpret and use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, dial indicators and depth gauges to ensure work meets customer requirements/standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, geometric tolerances, and drawings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of CNC Lathe or Mill experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (or relevant experience in lieu of education).
  • Ability to use clear and effective verbal communication skills.
  • CNC Programming experience is a plus.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize daily activities to meet objectives.
  • Works with guidance to plan, organize, and prioritize activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
  • Applies elementary concepts to manage and apply safe systems of work.
  • Ability to program - it can be intermediate, but with the capability of learning more.

Nice-to-haves
