GRI Towers Texas, Inc. is seeking experienced CNC Operators to join our team in Amarillo, TX. The primary objective of this role is to cut metal plates according to specified drawings and work instructions. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and caution to prevent potential damage during the cutting process, which could lead to machine downtime or significant material loss. The CNC Operator will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings and executing precise cuts using plasma or oxy-fuel methods. In addition to cutting, the operator will be tasked with allocating plates using a crane and magnet, collecting data from the plates, and registering this information in the roadmap and SAP system to ensure traceability throughout the manufacturing process. Operating the CNC machine involves triggering command devices and monitoring its performance to ensure optimal operation. Precision is key, and the operator will utilize measuring devices and tape to verify dimensions before cutting. The role also includes transporting materials with a crane, managing scrap materials by cutting and disposing of them in designated areas, and maintaining cleanliness of the CNC machine as per supervisor instructions. Quality control is paramount, and the operator must ensure that all processed products meet established standards. The operator will also be expected to optimize the use of tools and resources to minimize downtime and achieve daily productivity targets. Participation in training programs and adherence to safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is mandatory. Attendance must be recorded accurately using a punch card system, and the operator will be responsible for clocking in and out of operations in SAP. Additionally, the operator will engage in 5S activities to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
