About the position

The CNC Mill Programmer at Mason Controls is a critical role that involves advanced programming knowledge for CNC Mills, specifically 4 & 5 axis machines, utilizing Mastercam software. This position is essential for the design, manufacture, and marketing of highly engineered products and systems primarily for the aerospace and defense markets. The CNC Mill Programmer will be responsible for creating, testing, modifying, and enhancing CNC programs, ensuring that all processes are documented and authorized. The role requires a strong understanding of machining tools, including cutters and inserts, and the ability to implement setup reduction techniques for optimal machining efficiency. In this position, the CNC Mill Programmer will study blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, as well as the sequence of operations and setup requirements. The programmer will also design and select work holding fixtures, cutting tools, and material sizes necessary for creating programs. A key aspect of the role is to support the prove-out process with machinists and inspection teams to ensure conformance to specifications. Continuous improvement of new and existing processes is expected, along with the ability to design fixtures as needed. The programmer must also adhere to the company's ethics and business conduct policies while completing tasks on time and driving design for manufacturability (DFM) and part/tooling standardization.
