About the position

D. W. Mack Co., Inc is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer who will play a crucial role in programming and operating CNC Mills and Lathes using G-Code to produce high-precision parts that meet customer specifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and manufacturing dies, as well as repairing any broken dies that may arise during the production process. This position requires a strong background in machine shop operations, with a particular emphasis on precision and accuracy in all tasks performed. The ideal candidate will have a passion for machining and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in their work. In this role, the CNC Programmer will be expected to program, set up, and operate CNC Mills and Lathes effectively. This includes selecting the appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters to ensure efficient production processes. Regular maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines will also be a key responsibility, ensuring that all equipment operates at optimal performance levels. The programmer will need to maintain and update both software and hardware as necessary to keep up with technological advancements and production needs. Collaboration with production team members is essential to optimize the manufacturing process and improve product quality. The CNC Programmer will also be responsible for inspecting and measuring finished products, ensuring they meet customer requirements and specifications. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is critical to ensure safety and efficiency in the production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up and operate CNC Mills & Lathes to produce high precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters to ensure efficient production.
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain and update software and hardware as needed.
  • Collaborate with production team members to optimize manufacturing process and improve product quality.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them to customer requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements

  • Ability to read manufacturing blueprints.
  • Program / set up / run Lathes & Mills (G-code).
  • Familiar with Fusion 360 and Esprit.
  • Experience with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauge blocks, pins, CMM).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, specifically Job boss2.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Programming/running EDM a plus.
