About the position

The CNC Programmer position at Precinmac is an on-site role that requires the creation of CNC programs using Mastercam 2017 or higher for 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC milling machines. Additionally, the programmer will utilize Esprit SolidMill and SolidTurn to develop Multi Axis Lathe programs. The primary focus of this role is to manufacture components and job-specific fixturing, ensuring that all CNC programs are accurate and efficient. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for creating setup documentation, tooling documentation, and providing in-process support, as well as drafting prints to aid in the shop's operations. In this position, the CNC Programmer will work under limited supervision and must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily. This includes selecting appropriate cutting tools and determining speeds and feeds for various materials such as plastics, aluminum, steel, and titanium. The programmer will also verify and simulate programs against CAD models to ensure accuracy and compliance with job specifications. Analyzing job orders, drawings, blueprints, and design data is crucial to determine the correct machine tool, work holding, cutter selection, and machine settings. The role also involves planning, designing, and producing work holding fixtures, as well as writing, storing, and modifying CNC programs to enhance operational efficiency. Troubleshooting programs and processes is a key responsibility, along with a focus on continuous improvement to increase throughput and reduce changeover time. The CNC Programmer will coordinate with other functional areas as necessary to implement and modify CNC programs effectively.
