About the position

Hohmann & Barnard Inc is seeking a dedicated CNC Programmer-Operator-Fabricator to join our team in Chester, PA. As part of Marmon Holdings, Inc., we emphasize the importance of our people in driving our success. This full-time position involves advanced setup and operation of various production machines, as well as performing general maintenance to ensure machines remain operational. The ideal candidate will be responsible for custom fabricating components using CNC machining, cutting, and other metalworking equipment to complete assigned work orders. In this role, you will be tasked with keeping machines operational by performing general maintenance and electrical troubleshooting, addressing any failures or malfunctions with corrective actions. You will prepare raw materials for processing when necessary and examine finished products to verify conformance to quality standards, troubleshooting as needed. The position requires lifting raw materials, finished products, and packed items, either manually or using hoists. You will also verify counts on finished products to ensure product orders are complete, marking or tagging identification on parts, and loading and unloading items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances such as forklifts. Additionally, you will record information such as the number of products tested, production readings, and dates and times of product production. You will separate products according to weight, grade, size, and composition of materials used to produce them, and handle defective products for reprocessing. The role also involves placing products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping, and removing products, machine attachments, and waste material from machines as needed. You will transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, either by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential, and you will assist others as needed to process orders and participate in process improvement projects when assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Custom fabricates components using CNC machining, cutting, and other metal working equipment to complete assigned work orders.

  • Records information such as the number of products tested, production readings, and dates and times of product production.
  • Separates products according to weight, grade, size, and composition of materials used to produce them.
  • Separates defective products for reprocessing.
  • Places products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping.
  • Removes products, machine attachments, and waste material from machines as needed.
  • Transfers finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks.
  • Reads gauges and charts, and records data obtained.
  • Cleans and maintains work areas, machines, equipment, vehicles, and products using 5s principles.
  • Assists others as needed to process orders.
  • Participates in process improvement projects when assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Experience in metal working machine set-up and operation, welding, and maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with automated equipment; must have mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with Solidworks (or equivalent), Solidworks CAM, SolidCAM Plugin, AUTOCAD (or equivalent), CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, laser cutting, waterjet cutting.
  • Ability to understand and interpret product drawings.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
