About the position

The CNC Programmer at McElroy Manufacturing is responsible for writing programs for numerical control systems utilizing Mazatrol and ESPRIT CAM systems, as well as manual methods. The primary goal is to produce parts that are delivered on time, efficiently, and within the specified drawing tolerances, while adhering to the company's quality standards. This position is specifically for the 3rd shift, which operates from Friday to Sunday, 6 AM to 6 PM, and includes an 11.5% shift premium for all hours worked. Candidates for this role should possess a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for those who have completed two years of field-specific technical or vocational education. The ideal candidate will have between 1 to 5 years of experience programming NC machines in precision part production. It is important for applicants to have operational knowledge of the assigned machines in the NC Department, as well as proficiency in using precision measuring and inspection equipment. Effective communication skills are essential, particularly in reading blueprints, diagrams, drawings, and sketches. The role may require working overtime as needed, which could include extra hours during the week, as well as on Fridays, Saturdays, and occasionally Sundays and holidays. The physical demands of the job include the ability to work at a computer workstation for 80% of the normal workday, with the remaining time involving bending, squatting, and lifting. Mobility is also required across a multi-building complex covering several acres. This position is classified as safety-sensitive due to the nature of the tasks involved, which may include handling hazardous materials and operating machinery that could affect the safety and health of the employee and others.

Responsibilities
