About the position

As a CNC Programmer at Applied Medical, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by programming advanced CNC machines. This position requires you to work collaboratively within a team framework, ensuring that all programming tasks are executed efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for programming 3 and 5 axis CNC milling machines, as well as 7 axis Mill Turn and Bar Fed Mills. Your role will also involve maintaining quality standards and adhering to production schedules, which are essential for meeting the demands of our innovative medical device manufacturing processes. In addition to programming, you will be expected to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and quality in the production process. You will interface with various departments, including engineering, quality control inspection, and upper management, to ensure that all aspects of the manufacturing process are aligned with company standards and objectives. Your ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors will be vital in fostering a collaborative work environment. This position not only requires technical expertise but also a commitment to continuous improvement and learning. Responsibilities

  • Program 3 and 5 axis CNC milling machines and/or 7 axis Mill Turn and Bar Fed Mills.
  • Maintain quality standards and production schedules.
  • Follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Interface with engineering, department supervisors, quality control inspection, coworkers, and upper management.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in programming 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC machines or lathes.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of materials including stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, and tool steels.
  • Experience in Autodesk FeatureCAM or equivalent software.
  • Ability to hold tight tolerances.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work overtime, if needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in machining hardened tool steels.
  • Experience with molds and mold components.
  • Experience in machining multiple grades of stainless steel.
