About the position

PING, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-quality golf equipment, is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. The CNC Programmer will play a crucial role in the production of prototypes, machine components, and injection molds that are essential for creating high-performance golf clubs. This position involves working closely with a team of machinists and operators to develop and modify machine programs that cater to a variety of manufacturing needs, from simple fabrications to complex precision molds. As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines, including 3, 4, and 5 axis mills, live tooling lathes, and mill turn machines. You will work from 3D models, drawings, and verbal instructions to complete machining operations. Regular interaction with Design Engineering will be required to ensure that the tolerances and cosmetic requirements of machined components are met. Additionally, you will maintain tooling sheets and configuration control on legacy programs, train operators on the use of developed programs, and create detailed instructions for machinists. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming and machining, with a focus on efficiency and productivity. You will be expected to analyze job orders, perform necessary calculations, and select appropriate cutting tools for each task. Your ability to run simulations or tests to check completed programs will be vital in maintaining the quality of our products. Responsibilities

  • Program, set-up and operate CNC machines, including 3, 4, and 5 axis mills, live tooling lathes and mill turn machines.
  • Complete machining operations from 3D models, drawings and/or verbal instructions.
  • Maintain tooling sheets and configuration control on legacy programs.
  • Train operators to use and create components from developed programs.
  • Communicate with and provide DfMA feedback to engineers.
  • Create instructions for machinists.
  • Review 3D CAD design blueprints.
  • Check completed programs by running simulations or tests.
  • Prepare geometric layout of designs using proper software.
  • Determine sequence of operations in a program.
  • Choose cutting tools that will be needed.
  • Analyze job order and perform necessary calculations.
  • Write programs and modify existing ones for increased efficiency.
  • Analyze and select speeds and cutting tools for programs.
  • Make improvements to set up times for a task and contouring of complex shapes.
  • Simplify tooling time for operators and increase productivity.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and a two-year technical program Diploma in a directly related discipline.
  • Minimum six years' experience in the technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, interpersonal and team skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate a moderate level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, TEAMS, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and keep up with the administrative requirements of the position.
  • Proficiency in using Creo Manufacturing, Autodesk Feature CAM or DP Technologies Esprit software.
  • Proficiency creating and incorporating Renishaw probing routines to maintain quality of machined components.
  • Experience with Haas and/or DMG Mori controls preferred.
  • Proficiency with manual lathes, knee mills and various other manual equipment.

Nice-to-haves
