About the position

Eagle Technologies, LLC is seeking a highly qualified CNC Programmer to join our team in Newport News, VA. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $33 to $47 per hour. As a CNC Programmer, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing of helicopter rotor system and air-frame components for the aerospace industry, particularly focusing on rotor blade and prop blade development. Our company is AS9100 Rev D certified, which underscores our commitment to quality in engineering design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing in both composites and aerospace metals. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machinery, including CNC lathes and mills. You will follow established operating procedures and engineering instructions to ensure the highest quality of production. Collaboration with management and machinists is essential as you will develop CNC manufacturing plans and programming that optimize efficiency and effectiveness. You will also gather real-time feedback on program performance and work closely with shop staff to make necessary adjustments to improve production outcomes. Your expertise in planning and preparing machine shop operations using blueprints or written specifications will be vital in orchestrating the manufacturing process. You will utilize various machine tools to produce precision metal parts of varying designs and complexities. Your ability to document the best sequence of operations will ensure the best use of available equipment and staff. This position may also involve other activities as directed by management, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up, program, and operate CNC machinery (CNC lathes & mills).
  • Follow operating procedures, engineering instructions, and recognized methods of instruction.
  • Collaborate with management and machinists to develop CNC manufacturing plans and programming.
  • Gather real-time feedback on program performance and make necessary program changes.
  • Plan and prepare machine shop operations using blueprints or written specifications.
  • Utilize machine tools to produce precision metal parts of varying design and complexity.
  • Document the best sequence of operations for manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of programming experience (Mastercam preferred).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Expert level skill in reading and interpreting standard engineering drawing formats.
  • Professional level working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge and understanding of CNC code writing.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks CAD software is a plus.
  • Experience working within an AS9100 or ISO9000 quality system is a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented and computer literate.
