The CNC Programmer at Actalent plays a crucial role in supporting the machine shop to produce products that meet the specifications of both internal and external customers. This position involves creating, maintaining, and revising new or existing machining programs, as well as developing additional necessary applications to enhance production efficiency. The CNC Programmer is responsible for resolving all issues related to machining and specific customer specifications or requirements, ensuring that all products are manufactured to the highest standards. In this role, the CNC Programmer will design fixtures, tooling, and programs tailored to the needs of the shop. They will receive orders from clients and interpret those designs to program CNC Lathes and CNC Mills, ensuring that all products are created according to the required GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications. This position requires a strong understanding of machining processes and the ability to translate design specifications into functional machining programs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in machining technology, with a preference for those who have a degree in the field or equivalent experience. Proficiency in 3-D programming is highly preferred, as is experience with Mastercam or equivalent software. Previous voluntary participation in leadership or communications coursework is also highly regarded, as it demonstrates a commitment to personal and professional development.
