About the position

Allan Aircraft is seeking a motivated and skilled CNC Programmer to join their team in a fast-paced, high mix/low volume production environment. The role involves programming and operating CNC machines to improve efficiency and quality, while collaborating with the manufacturing team to implement innovative solutions for production challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Update part processes, programs, and fixturing to improve machine efficiency and quality.
  • Program and machine high precision, quick turn projects as well as recurring production jobs with attention to detail.
  • Develop configurable part programs to streamline machining of part families.
  • Complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings, verbal instructions, and models.
  • Set up, operate, and prove-out programs on various equipment including CNC lathe (2, 5, & 6 axis), CNC Mill (vertical 3 & 5-axis), manual mill/lathe, and other typical machine shop equipment.
  • Provide feedback to engineers and designers, including early process reviews, and receive feedback from customers to improve quality at the machine.

Requirements

  • Ability to diligently program multi-axis and multi-tasking CNCs.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
  • Experience with Fanuc Macro Programming.
  • Experience with HSMWorks is a plus.
  • Experience with Fanuc machine tool controls.
  • Experience with Renishaw probes.
  • Proficiency with typical precision measurement tools such as dial indicators, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other common inspection tools.
  • Basic knowledge of cutting tools, and speeds and feeds for each, regardless of material type.
  • Experience with difficult alloys such as Inconel 625 & 718 is a major plus.
  • Ability to read engineering prints and proficient interpretation of GD&T feature interpretation.
  • Basic knowledge and experience developing work holding and fixturing solutions required to complete quality, repeatable parts.
  • Desire to work collaboratively across several teams as needed to complete projects requiring multiple disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to help achieve company goals in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Possess a strong desire to help maintain shop cleanliness and organization, and maintain a lean manufacturing environment.
