The CNC Programmer at Actalent is responsible for developing CNC lathe programs using MasterCam for new parts on three, four, and five axis machines. This role involves creating a lathe setup plan for CNC operations and leading other operators within the area. The ideal candidate will have experience with Miyano and Fanuc Control, ensuring efficient setup and production runs on several CNC lathes while maintaining high-quality standards from first article inspection through final part inspection. The programmer will utilize precision measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy in machining operations. In addition to programming, the CNC Programmer will determine the sequence of machine operations and select the appropriate cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapes. This includes analyzing job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates. The programmer will also observe machines during trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery function properly and produce items that meet specifications. Modifications to existing programs may be required to enhance efficiency, and the programmer will compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures as needed. Preventative maintenance or minor repairs on machines will also be part of the responsibilities, ensuring that all equipment remains in optimal working condition. This position is fully on-site in Grandview, Missouri, and offers a flexible first shift schedule, allowing for variations in starting and ending times while maintaining a full 8-hour workday.
