As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC machines. You will need to have a working knowledge of CNC machine operations, including the ability to diagnose minor mechanical issues with the equipment and fixturing. Candidates should possess strong shop math skills, including the ability to calculate proper feed and speed for various materials and perform metric conversions. Interpreting blueprints and geometric tolerances is essential, as is the ability to hold tolerances and meet surface finish requirements. Basic computer skills for file transfers are also beneficial for this role.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate CNC machines effectively.
• Perform maintenance on CNC equipment as needed.
• Diagnose minor mechanical issues with machines and fixturing.
• Calculate proper feed and speed for materials using shop math skills.
• Interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances accurately.
• Ensure tolerances are met and surface finish requirements are achieved.
• Transfer files using basic computer skills.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of CNC programming experience required.
• Experience with 5-axis programming is required.
• MasterCAM experience is required.
• Setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC equipment is required.
• Precision manufacturing experience is required.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs is necessary.
• Strong communication skills (both written and oral) are required.
• Ability to follow directions and work with little supervision is essential.
• Understanding of machining processes and various equipment types is highly desired.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of CNC programming experience (preferred).
• 1 year of 5-axis programming experience (preferred).
