About the position

The Co-op Quality and Supply Chain Interior Cockpit position at BMW Manufacturing Company offers students a hands-on learning experience in product quality management and supplier quality management applications related to interior parts commodities. Interns will actively engage in critical projects, contribute to problem-solving measures, and assist in supply chain management, all while being encouraged to share their ideas and enhance their personal growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Quality Specialist on critical ongoing projects or upcoming projects.
  • Work on specific supplier issues with regards to process problem-solving measures, using problem-solving tools.
  • Assist on supply chain topics related to sub-component stock tracking and crisis management on critical component shortages.
  • Focus on specific supplier topics as defined by the Hiring manager and the assignment supervisor.
  • Implement OEE and value stream data collection systems at the suppliers.
  • Steer supplier quality development for specific supplier nominations.
  • Utilize problem-solving methodology (8D) to address recurrent quality issues with specific suppliers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a similar field.
  • Proficient in MS Office, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and basic knowledge of project management.
  • Experience in managing or leading a group of people.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Commitment to three co-op rotations as an enrolled student.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
  • Transfer students must provide GPA from current university.
  • Must attach a copy of unofficial transcript.
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
