About the position
La Brasa is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cocinero o Cocinera to join our team in Coconut Creek, FL. This full-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $16 to $18, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a strong background in restaurant operations. The role involves preparing a variety of dishes, receiving orders from suppliers, and following established recipes to ensure consistency and quality in our offerings. Additionally, the cook will participate in daily cleaning tasks and conduct deep cleaning once a week to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment. Experience in Peruvian cuisine is a significant plus, as we pride ourselves on delivering authentic flavors and dishes. Candidates should be comfortable with food preparation techniques, including the ability to filet chicken breast. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The cook will be expected to work flexible hours, including weekends, with a total of 60 hours available per week. A commitment to teamwork and collaboration is essential, as the cook will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Candidates must have the legal right to work in the USA and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. The work schedule will typically be from 10 AM to 9 PM, and fluency in Spanish is mandatory for effective communication within the team. Responsibilities
