At Bank of America, we are guided by a common purpose to help make financial lives better through the power of every connection. Responsible Growth is how we run our company and how we deliver for our clients, teammates, communities, and shareholders every day. One of the keys to driving Responsible Growth is being a great place to work for our teammates around the world. We're devoted to being a diverse and inclusive workplace for everyone. We hire individuals with a broad range of backgrounds and experiences and invest heavily in our teammates and their families by offering competitive benefits to support their physical, emotional, and financial well-being. The Commercial Credit Underwriter (UW) is responsible for underwriting and structuring credit transactions. The UW is able to underwrite credit transactions with minimal oversight from the Credit Officer (CO) and also approves complex credit transactions with some coaching from the CO/Commercial Credit Manager (CCM). The UW leads the credit approval process with assistance from the CCM as needed for clients without CO coverage and is an active participant with the CO in the credit approval process for complex clients/transactions. UWs may call on credit clients and prospects in partnership or independently with the Relationship Manager (RM) and/or CO as appropriate. The UW provides ongoing management and primary accountability for a portion of the monitoring and maintenance activities on an assigned portfolio or market, including a higher composition of complex client relationships. They monitor clients' operating performance and financial condition to proactively identify issues and opportunities. The UW delivers financial, industry, economic, and other analysis to facilitate decision-making while also ensuring adherence to credit policies, guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements. Additionally, UWs provide ongoing coaching and support to other Credit team members, reporting to the CCM and partnering closely with COs.
