About the position

FCCI Insurance Group is seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in assisting with the acquisition and retention of profitable commercial lines customers, utilizing sound underwriting principles that align with company policy. The Underwriter will collaborate closely with assigned agents to meet profitability and production goals, adhering to established guidelines while fostering strong business relationships. This position involves managing the pricing and underwriting processes for an assigned territory, ensuring that all underwriting decisions reflect the company's commitment to excellence and service. The ideal candidate will possess commercial lines underwriting experience, along with established agency relationships in the states of Maryland, Pennsylvania, or Virginia. This role can be based in our Mid-Atlantic Regional Office located in Glen Allen, VA, or it may be a field-based position covering Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, or North and South Carolina. Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in field-based underwriting roles.
  • Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance market.
