About the position

The Commercial Sales & Leasing Section Manager at the Arizona State Land Department is responsible for overseeing the sales and leasing functions of the agency's Real Estate Division. This role involves managing a team, developing policies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with regulations while maximizing revenue from State Trust lands. The position may offer a hybrid remote work schedule based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating information within the section and throughout the Department on commercial sales and leasing matters.
  • Monitoring all aspects of the commercial sales and leasing disposition programs.
  • Directly and indirectly assigning projects and applications to section staff, overseeing workload distribution.
  • Implementing managerial measures and metrics to operate the section effectively.
  • Managing and supervising section staff, including hiring and performance management.
  • Overseeing the negotiation of sales and leasing contracts.
  • Supervising the processing, review, analysis, and recommendation on all sales and leasing proposals.
  • Preparing progress reports for various stakeholders.
  • Providing recommendations on valuation, evaluation, and economic issues impacting transactions.
  • Performing complex analysis of economic, political, and environmental effects of land transactions.
  • Preparing the Real Estate section budget and financial reports.
  • Creating and maintaining all related legal documents.
  • Conducting training, meetings, seminars, and presentations.
  • Preparing and implementing marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Public Administration, or Management.
  • Five years of experience in complex commercial real estate land disposition transactions.
  • Five years of experience in lease contracts and agency rules and regulations.
  • Five years of experience in leadership and supervision.
  • Five years of public speaking experience.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software.
  • Knowledge of Arizona state land laws and regulations.
