About the position

The role is responsible for driving revenue through the sale of sponsorship initiatives, including general advertising opportunities, buyouts, digital assets, and premium services for both events and non-event opportunities. The position involves identifying and working with potential sponsors, developing compelling sponsorship packages, and managing relationships with sponsors to ensure objectives are met.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and target potential sponsors by researching and identifying those that align with the organization's brand and events.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective sponsors.
  • Create tiered sponsorship packages in conjunction with the Marketing and Communications Manager.
  • Customize sponsorship proposals to meet the specific needs and objectives of potential sponsors.
  • Assist in developing the Marketing Plan to include goals and advertising.
  • Conduct sales presentations and meetings with potential sponsors.
  • Negotiate sponsorship agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
  • Close sponsorship deals and achieve revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Provide ongoing support to sponsors, addressing any issues and ensuring their sponsorship objectives are met.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of sponsor branding and messaging.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to execute sponsor activation strategies.
  • Oversee the execution of sponsorship deliverables, ensuring all commitments are met.
  • Track and report on sponsorship sales performance, including revenue, sponsor engagement, and ROI.
  • Provide regular updates to management on sponsorship activities and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University in Marketing, Sponsorship and Advertising or related field.
  • Proven experience in sponsorship sales, preferably in a convention center, stadium, arena or industry-related field.
  • Strong understanding of general advertising, buyouts, digital marketing, and premium services.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven, with a proactive approach to sales.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Experience with CRM software and sales analytics tools.
