About the position

The Commercial Specialist position at a growing manufacturing company in the wind energy sector involves managing customer orders, maintaining relationships, providing logistic support, and overseeing documentation management. The role is crucial for ensuring timely order fulfillment and effective communication with both local and international teams, particularly with a focus on operations involving China.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer purchase orders in the system and convert them to sourcing demand for manufacturers or suppliers.
  • Work with the Chinese team on order fulfillment to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Support the warehouse supervisor with shipping documentation and arrange outbound deliveries to local customers.
  • Maintain data accuracy and timeliness in both customer and company systems.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding orders, deliveries, and forecasts on a daily basis.
  • Respond promptly to urgent customer requirements, especially regarding delivery changes or quality issues.
  • Coordinate with forwarders and brokers for timely inbound deliveries.
  • Assist with local and international purchases with approval from the finance controller.
  • Support quality control activities by collecting reports, photos, and uploading documentation to customer systems.
  • Organize operational documentation and manage bookkeeping related to purchasing, taxes, and shipping invoices.

Requirements

  • Experience in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience or exposure to Asian countries or an open-mindedness towards cultural differences is preferred.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Passionate, down-to-earth, and open-minded attitude.
  • Working experience in a start-up company is ideal.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with local teams and headquarters in China.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English is a plus.
