About the position

The Commercial Technology Manager at UL Solutions is responsible for leading the team that defines and manages the roadmap for Commercial Technology investments. This role involves building business cases for Capital Committee approvals and overseeing the management of Commercial Tech infrastructure. The position requires collaboration across various departments to assess needs and support the growth and maturity of technology capabilities within the organization, driving digital transformation to enhance business growth across commercial teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial technology stack, providing recommendations for system additions, enhancements, or upgrades.
  • Monitor advancements in commercial technologies and tools, evaluating and recommending new technology options for implementation.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships across the organization with business units, client services, sales, operations, and finance.
  • Work cross-functionally to build business cases for new commercial technology initiatives, assessing people, process, and technology.
  • Manage ROI profiles on all technology along with capabilities matrix and maturity benchmarks.
  • Partner with stakeholders for data privacy and governance matters.
  • Lead activities to ensure technologies meet or exceed user needs.
  • Directly partner with the marketing team to align marketing strategies with sales capabilities.
  • Manage the performance of direct or indirect reports by defining accountability and establishing performance objectives.
  • Support sales/commercial system integrations and migrations for acquired companies.
  • Manage analytics to support team performance objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
  • 7+ years of related discipline experience.
  • Functional knowledge of commercial technologies & tools including Salesforce CRM, Oracle CPQ, and pricing tools.
  • Sufficient IT knowledge to identify and manage needed infrastructure support and software solutions.
  • Demonstrates effective collaboration and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of emerging technologies and understanding of digital transformation & innovation.
  • Strong facilitation, project planning, and management skills.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and performing financial analysis.
