About the position

The Communications Specialist II plays a crucial role in supporting the internal communication efforts of MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure. This position is responsible for employing a strategic communication approach that not only informs but also influences and inspires internal clients. The primary goal is to advance the company brand, enhance employee engagement, and ultimately align with team objectives. The specialist will collaborate closely with various internal departments and stakeholders to create, write, and disseminate content across multiple channels, including email, employee communication apps, digital publishing networks, and during internal events. In this role, the Communications Specialist II will identify, research, plan, write, schedule, and publish content for company newsletters targeted at specific audiences. They will develop content tailored for internal stakeholders and projects, create content campaigns for the company’s website and social media platforms, and provide recommendations on measurable internal strategies and tactics. The specialist will also contribute to the overall content strategy, ensuring that it aligns with stakeholders' strategic priorities and employee engagement goals. Monitoring analytics and generating reports will be essential to influence the communication strategy effectively. The position requires a strong focus on maintaining the brand voice consistently across all communications. The specialist will proofread materials to ensure accuracy and high-quality output, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and organizational skills. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of communication that supports the company's mission and values, particularly in the context of the construction and clean energy sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, plan, write, schedule and publish content for company newsletters to targeted audiences through a variety of communication platforms (email, text, print, apps, etc.)
  • Develop content for internal stakeholders and projects
  • Create content campaigns for website and social media
  • Provide recommendations on measurable internal strategies and tactics
  • Contribute to overall content strategy based on stakeholders' strategic priorities and employee engagement goals
  • Collaborate with internal clients to ensure brand voice is conveyed consistently
  • Monitor analytics and generate reports to influence communication strategy
  • Proofread materials to produce accurate and high-quality work

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English or related field required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant professional experience in communications or marketing
  • Familiarity with corporate communications in a business setting, preferably in a construction-related industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal clients/business partners
  • Ability to think creatively to meet business requirements
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Organized with an eye for detail
  • Ability to handle projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with html email programs such as Constant Contact and/or texting platforms a plus
