The Communications Specialist position at Johns Hopkins University is designed to support the communications efforts of two centers within the Department of Health Policy and Management: The Roger and Flo Lipitz Center to Advance Policy in Aging and Disability and the Hopkins' Economics of Alzheimer's Disease and Services (HEADS) Center. This role is part-time, requiring 12 hours of work per week, with 8 hours dedicated to the Lipitz Center and 4 hours to the HEADS Center, and is expected to continue through the end of August 2024. In this role, the Communications Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the visibility and outreach of the centers. This includes the development and design of communications materials such as graphics, promotional assets, and presentations. The specialist will utilize Mailchimp to distribute these materials to the Center's listserv. During the summer months, the focus will be on producing the Lipitz Center Annual Report, the Lipitz Center Summer Issue Brief, and the HEADS summer newsletter. It is crucial that all communications adhere to the brand standards of Johns Hopkins University and the Bloomberg School of Public Health. Additionally, the Communications Specialist will collaborate with Center staff to create and publish content on social media platforms, including Twitter and LinkedIn. Maintaining the websites for both the Lipitz Center and HEADS Center is also a key responsibility, which involves adding or editing content as necessary and ensuring that the information presented is accurate and up-to-date. This position requires a proactive approach to liaising with project teams, contractors, and external partners to ensure effective communication and project execution.
