As a Communications Specialist, you will play a crucial role in creating, managing, and executing e-communications plans that engage various constituents and support organizational goals. This position involves end-to-end management of external email processes, collaborating with multiple departments including Human Resources, Development, Business Development, Marketing, and Alumni teams to create effective e-communications strategies. You will also be responsible for developing and optimizing content for all communications channels, including SharePoint and social media, ensuring that our messaging is consistent and impactful. In this role, you will manage the design and execution of email marketing campaigns, from content development to layout, testing, deployment, and reporting. You will utilize data to create e-communication plans that optimize return on investment (ROI) and facilitate regularly scheduled calls with various departments to inform communication initiatives. Additionally, you will provide crisis communications support as needed and help facilitate interdepartmental requests, working collaboratively with the Corporate Director of Communications and Public Relations as well as other members of the Marketing team. This position requires flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including weekends, and the ability to lift at least 30 pounds. You will spend a significant portion of your workday sitting and typing, and travel may be required as needed. Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and execute e-communications plans to engage various constituents.
  • Manage end-to-end external email process workflow and strategy.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Development, Business Development, Marketing, and Alumni teams to create e-communications plans.
  • Develop and optimize content for all communications channels in collaboration with Marketing and Communications teams.
  • Manage and develop content for SharePoint News You Can Use.
  • Provide reporting and utilize data to create e-communication plans that optimize ROI.
  • Design and execute email marketing campaigns from content development to reporting.
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled calls with various departments to inform communication initiatives.
  • Manage Caron's ESP(s) and maintain constituent records & audiences.
  • Ensure users/staff are aware of email marketing processes & procedures.
  • Develop content for all channels, including writing and video production.
  • Provide crisis communications support as needed.
  • Support interdepartmental requests and collaborate with the Corporate Director of Communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of communications experience, including internal communications and some social media.
  • At least 5 years working with an email service provider (ESP).
  • Project management experience.
  • At least 1 year of agency experience preferred.
  • If in recovery, 2 years of continuous sobriety preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to write long copy and social content.
  • Strong understanding of internal communications.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with non-traditional media.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and video editing.
