About the position

ECS is seeking a Communications Specialist to work in our Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will generate creative communications ideas around Information Technology issues and lead the planning, research, production, and delivery of content across multiple mediums including websites and email. This role involves planning and leading research activities to gather story content, assisting in the creation of communications materials, promotional materials, and leadership briefs that effectively communicate the impact of communications initiatives. Additionally, the Communications Specialist will contribute to the development of a comprehensive communications and content strategy, ensuring adherence to Section 508 and plain language standards.

Responsibilities

• Generate creative communications ideas around Information Technology issues
• Lead the planning, research, production, and delivery of content across multiple mediums including websites and email
• Plan and lead research activities to gather story content
• Assist in the creation of communications materials, promotional materials, and leadership briefs that communicate the impact of communications initiatives
• Contribute to the development of a comprehensive communications and content strategy
• Ensure adherence to Section 508 and plain language standards

Requirements

• Must have a current Top-Secret Clearance with the capability of Obtaining SCI / CI-Poly if needed to meet contract requirements
• Bachelor's degree
• 5 years of experience in a similar position with a large organization
• Communications strategy and execution experience
• Process development and improvement experience

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing and implementing written and visual content on Point web pages
• Experience producing editorial, promotional, and/or documentary communications
• Familiarity with customer experience and human-centered design methodologies
• Experience performing user research and synthesis
