About the position

As a Communications Specialist at Graybar, you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering our messaging across various platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include writing, editing, and developing content for both print and digital formats, ensuring that our core messaging remains consistent and aligns with our brand integrity. You will determine the most effective medium for communication, whether it be digital, print, or other formats, and coordinate communication projects from conception to completion. This involves managing timelines, budgets, and ensuring that all messaging is on point and resonates with our target audiences. In this dynamic role, you will be expected to collaborate with various teams to gather information and insights that will inform your content creation. Your ability to adapt your writing style for different audiences, both internal and external, will be essential in crafting compelling messages that inform, educate, and persuade. You will also need to demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills, as you will be juggling multiple assignments and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines. Some travel may be required as part of your responsibilities, allowing you to engage with different teams and stakeholders directly.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and develop content for a variety of print and digital formats, ensuring consistent core messaging and brand integrity.
  • Determine the best medium for messaging: digital, print, etc.
  • Coordinate communication projects from conception to completion, ensuring work is on time, on budget, and on message.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in corporate communications required.
  • 4 year degree in Journalism, PR, Communications, or Marketing preferred.
  • Knowledge of AP style and corporate communications principles.
  • Knowledge of message delivery options including print, social media, public relations, and other digital formats.
  • Feature writing and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to adapt writing for a variety of audiences, both internal and external, creating compelling messages that inform, educate, and persuade.
  • Strong time management skills, organization skills, and ability to transition quickly between various assignments and prioritize tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
