About the position

The Executive Director at West CAP is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overseeing operations to advance the organization's mission of supporting low-income individuals and families. This role involves comprehensive management of programs, staff, budget, and community engagement, ensuring that services effectively address community needs while adhering to regulations and funding requirements. The Executive Director collaborates with the Board of Directors and community stakeholders to develop long-term strategies and sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversee operations to advance West CAP's mission.
  • Manage programs, staff, budget, and community engagement effectively.
  • Ensure services address community needs and comply with regulations and funding requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and community stakeholders to develop long-term strategies.
  • Advocate for policies and initiatives that support low-income families and advance social equity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong background in program management, grants management, financial oversight, and community engagement.
  • Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills, with experience serving as a spokesperson for an organization.
  • Commitment to the mission of supporting low-income individuals and families.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements for nonprofit organizations at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications and financial/client management systems.
  • Demonstrated excellence in professional writing.
