We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Leasing Agent to join our team at a luxury Class A apartment complex in Princeton. As an Assistant Leasing Agent/Community Manager, you will play a crucial role in presenting and leasing apartments to prospective tenants, ensuring that occupancy levels remain high. You will also assist the Community Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the property, ensuring smooth processes and a high standard of service. In this role, you will actively engage with prospective tenants, present available units and community amenities, and convert prospects into residents. You will support the Community Manager with daily administrative tasks, tenant relations, and maintaining property standards. Your responsibilities will include handling the entire leasing process, including prospect follow-ups, application assistance, and lease agreements. Additionally, you will act as a liaison for property owners, helping them navigate the rental market and maintain occupancy. Success in this position will be measured by high occupancy rates, strong lease conversions, and positive tenant relationships. You will be expected to stay updated on property market trends, local competition, and tenant needs, ensuring that our community remains a desirable place to live.

Responsibilities

  • Present properties and community amenities to prospective tenants in a positive, professional manner.
  • Qualify prospects by determining their needs, economic viability, and living standards.
  • Ensure timely and thorough follow-up with all leads and inquiries.
  • Advertise available properties through various media channels and promotional materials.
  • Assist the Community Manager with tenant relations, organizing tenant files, and coordinating daily administrative tasks.
  • Confirm rental application data, including personal references, and assist prospects through the application process.
  • Stay updated on property market trends, local competition, and tenant needs.
  • Negotiate lease terms and conditions with prospective tenants.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of vacant and occupied properties, ensuring proper maintenance and upkeep.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a Leasing Agent is preferred.
  • Familiarity with real estate law and leasing practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Persuasive marketing and sales abilities with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and digital property management systems.
  • Knowledge of the Princeton real estate market is a plus.
  • A BS degree in real estate or a related field is preferred but not required.
