About the position

As a Community Consultant (Leasing Agent) at River Trail Apartments in Puyallup, WA, you will play a vital role in the management and leasing of a 450-unit garden-style apartment community. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to effectively communicate the benefits of living in our community to prospective tenants. You will be responsible for conducting tours of the property, highlighting its features, and addressing any questions or concerns that potential residents may have. Your role will also involve maintaining a thorough understanding of the local rental market to ensure competitive positioning and effective marketing strategies. In addition to leasing responsibilities, you will handle customer and tenant relations, ensuring that all issues are addressed promptly and with a high level of service. You will prepare and maintain reports for management, assist residents throughout the rental process, and host community events that align with American Property Management's Quality Standards. This position requires a physical presence at the job location during scheduled hours, and flexibility to work additional hours may be necessary to meet company or project needs. Responsibilities

  • Tour units with prospective tenants and highlight the qualities and selling points of the property/units.
  • Handle customer and tenant relations and ensure all issues are being addressed promptly and with a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain knowledge of the current area market.
  • Prepare and maintain reports for managers.
  • Host community events and ensure they are complying with American Property Management's Quality Standards.
  • Assist residents from beginning to end of the rental process.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in customer service is required.
  • 1+ years' experience in the multifamily/student housing industry within the last 10 years preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal Fair Housing Laws, Landlord/Tenant Laws and ADA laws preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in effective communication and teamwork.
  • Maintains a positive outlook and embraces a collaborative team approach.
  • Shows responsibility and takes pride in their work.
  • Fluent in English, with strong reading, speaking, and writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in property management software.
  • Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse tenant base.
