The People Team is responsible for maximizing employee value through talent acquisition, employee onboarding, management, and experience. Our People Team is the force behind driving employee engagement and strong company culture at Deputy. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to own compensation and benefits for Deputy. The Compensation & Benefits Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's compensation and benefits programs that matter most to our employees. This role requires a deep understanding of compensation and benefits strategies, as well as the ability to analyze data, strong analytical and financial skills, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization. The Compensation & Benefits Lead is a critical member of the People team and plays a critical role in attracting, retaining, and motivating employees. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a highly motivated and analytical professional who is passionate about developing and implementing effective compensation and benefits programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, implementation, maintenance, and administration of the company global compensation philosophy and benefits strategy, programs, policies, and procedures via scalable technology.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on compensation and benefits-related matters, including policy interpretation, job evaluation, and performance management.
  • Ensure that Deputy has defensible, equitable, and scalable compensation processes and practices that are understood by employees, managers, and candidates.
  • Conduct job evaluation and salary surveys, establish salary structures, develop salary budgets, and prepare policies and procedures to ensure the achievement of equitable and competitive employee compensation.
  • Determine market rates, pay bands, job architecture, and bonus plans.
  • Work on compensation and benefits projects for all divisions globally, including market-pricing of global positions and recommending ancillary health and welfare benefits packages.
  • Innovate and keep a pulse on current best practices and trends in compensation and benefits.
  • Lead and manage annual compensation projects including all merit and bonus programs as well as forecasting.
  • Partner in the design, development, and administration of employee benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance/AD&D plans, wellness program, 401k plans, and flexible spending plans.
  • Ensure plans are competitive from a plan design and administration standpoint, and make recommendations for delightful employee experience, cost control, and improvement.
  • Ensure full compliance with all state and federal regulations, reporting, and filing requirements relating to all benefit plans.
  • Manage the open enrollment process for all benefit and 401k programs, including the development of timelines and communication plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting, Business or related field; Master's or MBA degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits in private and public companies.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and balance collaboration and communication with multiple stakeholders across various departments and functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of global compensation and benefits principles and practices, including market analysis, benchmarking, and survey data analysis focused on employee experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HRIS systems and implementations such as Pave, Radford, and Carta and data analysis tools would be advantageous.
  • Prefer experience with the tech stack of a start-up, and various SaaS operating systems (GSuite, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Rippling, Lattice).
