Barrios Technology is seeking an innovative Human Resource/Compensation and Benefits leader to join our team in a critical managerial role. In this position, you will provide proactive leadership over the Barrios Compensation and Benefits programs while also offering general HR support to employees and management. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate! As the Compensation and Benefits Manager, you will oversee one Benefit Coordinator and provide advice, counsel, and support to the Chief People Officer and our Senior HR Business Partners who directly service our programs. This position is a regular full-time opportunity and is expected to work in the office at least 2-3 days a week, located in the Clear Lake area of Houston, Texas. For the right candidate, relocation assistance will be considered. In this role, you will develop, coordinate, and administer processes to ensure equitable compensation for all employees while providing the best benefits possible within the parameters of the company's resources. You will plan, develop, and oversee programs to pay employees, ensuring that managers are thoroughly informed and educated about these processes. Working closely with other HR members, you will review and update existing benefit and compensation-related policies to ensure compliance with current legislation. You will be responsible for ensuring fair and accurate compensation, including salaries, offers, transfers, equity adjustments, bonuses, and any additional types of employee benefits. Your responsibilities will also include supervising processes, employees, and activities related to the determination of adequate and proper benefits and compensation. You will direct the preparation and distribution of informational literature and verbal presentations to notify and advise employees of their eligibility for benefits programs, including insurance plans, paid time off, and bonus pay. Additionally, you will manage and evaluate both the compensation and benefits functions for the organization, participating in the design of plans, hiring, salary and incentive structures, job evaluations, performance appraisals, life and health insurance, and disability programs. You will provide annual salary action plans and administer the salary planning activity while overseeing qualified retirement plan participation. Your role will involve reviewing and analyzing current benefit and compensation programs, developing and executing new programs as needed, and communicating with employees who have inquiries regarding compensation and employee benefit-related issues. You will administer employee benefit programs, including group medical, dental, vision, prescription, disability, group life, AD&D, EAP, 401(k), and flexible spending account programs. Furthermore, you will research and advise on benefit program enhancements and serve on the committee to evaluate benefit broker recommendations, participate in contract negotiations and renewals, and serve as the primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Compliance with State and Federal regulatory agencies will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, as will managing open enrollment and program implementation processes. You will implement and monitor adherence to compensation and employee benefit policies, procedures, and practices, remaining current with laws concerning mandatory insurance coverage and prevailing practices among similar organizations.
