About the position

Frenchette Group is seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to oversee payroll functions across our establishments. The Payroll Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the precise execution of payroll processes throughout the organization. This position involves leading payroll operations, managing benefits administration, and collaborating with our payroll service provider. A keen eye for detail, exceptional accuracy, and strong analytical skills are essential for success in this role. As the primary liaison between restaurant management and executive teams regarding payroll matters, the Payroll Manager ensures timely and accurate payroll submissions. This role requires serving as the main administrator for payroll systems, responsible for the setup and implementation of system features, maintaining current employee records, user profiles, and coding for earnings, taxes, and deductions. The Payroll Manager will also reconcile hours and financial data from point-of-sale systems, ensuring the accuracy of tip sheets and time clock data for each payroll cycle. In addition, the Payroll Manager will reconcile periodic tax filings and earnings records, including necessary forms, and prepare payroll-related schedules for tax submissions. Overseeing the onboarding process is also a key responsibility, ensuring that new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, direct deposits, and other payroll modifications are processed efficiently. The role includes verifying and maintaining accurate vacation and sick pay eligibility and accruals, resolving payroll and benefits-related issues in collaboration with our payroll service provider, and monitoring eligibility and enrollment for benefits. The Payroll Manager will assist in the open enrollment process, ensure accurate benefit deductions, manage COBRA administration, and ensure compliance with the Affordable Care Act by monitoring data for accurate reporting. Responding to state and federal inquiries, including unemployment notices and wage verification requests, is also part of the role. The Payroll Manager will generate reports and contribute to special projects as needed, support team members with payroll inquiries, and assist in onboarding new employees when required, all while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a multi-location setting.
  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
