About the position

The Compensation & Benefits Manager will lead and manage employee compensation and benefits programs within Bosch Building Technologies, ensuring compliance with government regulations. This role requires strategic thinking and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance the delivery of benefits and compensation, particularly during the transition of the division to a stand-alone entity. The position is based in either Fairport, NY or Burnsville, MN and involves both operational oversight and strategic development of benefit plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy for the design and development of benefit plans to support the divestiture of the division from Bosch to a stand-alone entity.
  • Assess current shared service support and determine necessary actions to build a stand-alone benefit function.
  • Oversee benefit operations and act as a change agent to enhance the delivery of benefit offerings.
  • Form strong business relationships with vendors and third-party relationships.
  • Administer employee savings plans, 401(k) plan, and deferred compensation programs.
  • Advise and inform employees of changes related to benefits including eligibility and coverage.
  • Complete records, reporting, and documentation required by regulations and policies.
  • Conduct employee surveys and demographic research for accurate quotes from benefit providers.
  • Select carriers and plans based on quotes and prior experience in partnership with leadership.
  • Monitor compliance with plan requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct research on incentive compensation plans and assess competitors' offerings.
  • Facilitate timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions.
  • Assign jobs to appropriate compensation structures and FLSA classifications.
  • Maintain knowledge of economic conditions and labor market trends related to benefits and compensation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum of eight to ten years Human Resource experience, preferably in benefits and compensation.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex benefit and compensation topics.
  • Competence in mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inferences.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to manage reporting functions and present data logically.
  • Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to management and public groups.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to establish credibility quickly.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse work teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in non-standardized situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong business acumen and emotional intelligence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business software; knowledge of SAP desired.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Energetic, self-starter who is flexible and adaptable to changing demands.
  • Good organizational skills and professionalism.
