Eide Bailly is seeking a Compensation & Benefits Tax Senior Associate to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide consulting services for compensation and benefits taxation and ERISA compliance. Your responsibilities will include assessing tax and ERISA issues related to the establishment, implementation, and ongoing administration of both single and multi-employer retirement and welfare benefit plans. You will consult on various issues related to tax-qualified and non-tax-qualified retirement plans, including 401(k) plans, traditional defined benefit plans, insured annuity programs, and nonqualified deferred compensation plans. Additionally, you will address issues related to welfare benefit programs, such as insured medical plans, healthcare reimbursement accounts, and flexible spending accounts. A typical day will involve performing research on technical tax and ERISA issues and preparing written communications that summarize and analyze your findings. You will monitor and analyze new legislative, regulatory, and administrative developments in compensation and benefits tax and ERISA. Drafting employee benefit plan participant communications and forms will also be part of your responsibilities. You will review and negotiate service provider agreements related to ERISA plan investments, as well as plan administration and consulting services. Furthermore, you will assist with IRS and DOL compliance filings for benefit plans and analyze prohibited transaction and other fiduciary issues related to benefit plans.
