About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience in a market or commercial clinical laboratory setting.
• Laboratory experience is essential.
• Clinical laboratory experience of at least 1 year is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational/Technical diploma is beneficial.
• Experience with patients across all age groups from infancy to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Receive laboratory specimens into the laboratory information system.
• Process, sort, and prepare specimens for submission to referral laboratories.
• Label specimens and aliquots according to established protocols and testing orders.
• Centrifuge and aliquot specimens as required.
• Prepare specimens for courier pick-up.
• Maintain appropriate records/documentation relating to specimen issues and take corrective action as needed.
• Assess specimen requirements for referral testing and troubleshoot any issues with specimen requirements or order entry.
• Review Outstanding Specimen Report (OSR) and address pending referral testing issues.
