About the position

The Compliance Analyst-HIPAA position at Molina Healthcare is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations and initiatives of the HIPAA Department. This role involves providing technical expertise in regulatory and legislative interpretation, managing compliance incidents, and ensuring adherence to HIPAA and state privacy laws across Molina's various product lines. The analyst will also be involved in reporting, policy management, and supporting audits and regulatory inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations and initiatives of the HIPAA Department.
  • Provide technical expertise to interdepartmental regulatory and legislative interpretation inquiries.
  • Perform Plan Required Reporting.
  • Interpret and analyze HIPAA, state privacy laws, and Medicare, Medicaid, and MMP contractually Required Reporting Technical Specifications.
  • Create and maintain monthly and quarterly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
  • Manage compliance incidents and related processes, including corrective action plans.
  • Respond to legislative and member inquiries/complaints.
  • Assist with the regulatory memo distribution process.
  • Review, revise, and manage Molina Privacy policies and procedures.
  • Review and respond to member requests to access PHI and other HIPAA individual rights.
  • Support internal and external audit and readiness reviews.
  • Maintain business associate agreements.
  • Coordinate site visits for federal and state regulators.
  • Lead large, complex projects to achieve compliance objectives.
  • Interpret and analyze state and federal regulatory manuals and revisions.
  • Coordinate comments relating to federal notices of proposed rulemaking.

Requirements

  • BA/BS/BC degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or Information Technology, or equivalent employment experience of 4+ years in Health Care, Privacy/Security, or a related field.
  • 4 years' experience in the health care industry in a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • BA/BS/BC in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration (preferred).
  • 4 years' experience in health care or financial services industry in a related field (preferred).
  • CIPP/US or Certified in Healthcare Compliance (preferred).
