About the position

The position ensures compliance with federal nondiscrimination and sexual harassment laws, including Title VI, VII, IX, the Clery Act, and VAWA. It oversees policy development, implementation, and training to foster a safe, inclusive environment. The role involves managing equity programs, conducting investigations, preparing reports, and collaborating with stakeholders on compliance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a process for recruiting, selecting, and appointing individuals to serve as appeal officers, adjudicators, investigators, and other roles involved in the Title IX process.
  • Develop, review, and revise institutional policies and procedures related to discrimination, sexual harassment, and Title IX compliance.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures align with federal regulations, legal standards, and best practices in higher education.
  • Monitor compliance with federal laws and regulations related to discrimination, sexual harassment, and campus safety, including Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, the Clery Act, and VAWA.
  • Collaborate with General Counsel, Human Resource, public safety, and other institutional stakeholders to track and record compliance metrics and trends over time.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs and collaborate with campus partners to provide ongoing education and training on relevant legal requirements and institutional expectations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the institution and external regulatory agencies, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders on matters related to discrimination and sexual harassment compliance.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to administrators, faculty, staff, and students on non-discrimination compliance-related matters and best practices.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Three years of prior related work experience
