About the position

The Compounder position at The Goodkind Co is a critical role within the manufacturing process of clean and green personal care and beauty products. Reporting directly to the Compounding Manager, the Compounder is responsible for accurately weighing and mixing raw materials according to specific product specifications. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety guidelines, as the Compounder will be working with various chemicals and equipment necessary for weighing and batching. In this role, the Compounder will ensure that batches are produced in accordance with the production schedule, meticulously weighing individual chemicals and ingredients to the desired specifications. Documentation is a key aspect of this position; the Compounder must keep track of all documentation, ensuring it is filled out completely and follows good documentation practices. Additionally, the Compounder will be responsible for tracking chemical inventory and returning unused materials to the warehouse in a timely manner. Collaboration with the warehouse team is essential, particularly in reporting any material discrepancies or shortages. The Compounder will also work closely with maintenance to identify any malfunctioning or damaged equipment, ensuring that it is repaired or removed from service as necessary. This role may also involve working with supervision, process engineering, and research and development teams to implement any changes to batching procedures. The Compounder must be adaptable and willing to take on additional responsibilities as required for the success of the department and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately weigh and mix raw materials according to product specifications.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and participate in safety initiatives.
  • Wear appropriate PPE when working with chemicals and equipment.
  • Ensure batches are produced according to the production schedule.
  • Document all information from weighed ingredients to batching documentation.
  • Track chemical inventory and return unused materials to the warehouse.
  • Report any material discrepancies and shortages to the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with maintenance to identify and repair malfunctioning equipment.
  • Work with supervision, process engineering, and research and development on batching procedures.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required by supervision.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand for a significant portion of the shift.
  • Willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Ability to perform fundamental mathematical calculations with and without a calculator.
