About the position

This employee performs a variety of complex technical duties related to the analysis of city, county, and criminal justice agencies' data processing needs. Employee designs, tests, and implements systems and performs modifications to existing computer applications. Performs related duties as required. This employee is responsible for the technical development, implementation, and support of various solutions in the Enterprise Applications Program. The position duties encompass skills in multiple areas including application development, business analysis, application support, and support of the various components that make up the Enterprise Applications' development stack. The person who fills this position will also: perform in depth research, gather information, perform analysis, tests, evaluations for development, maintenance, and implementation of various business solutions within the Enterprise Applications program area. In addition, they will provide application user support, write and interpret SQL and stored procedures, and generate reports.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex technical duties related to data processing needs analysis.
  • Design, test, and implement systems and modify existing applications.
  • Provide technical development, implementation, and support for solutions in the Enterprise Applications Program.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis for business solutions.
  • Provide application user support and generate reports.
  • Write and interpret SQL and stored procedures.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience as a Senior Computer Programmer Analyst with the City of Cincinnati plus a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience as a Senior Computer Programmer Analyst with the City of Cincinnati plus an Associate's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Four years of senior-level paid professional experience in information technology or information systems plus a Bachelor's Degree in GIS, geography, planning, or a related field.
  • Six years of senior-level paid professional experience in information technology or information systems plus an Associate's Degree in GIS, geography, planning, or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of geographical information systems, financial systems, and human resources applications.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, C, C++, and Visual Basic.
  • Familiarity with database management systems like Oracle and SQL.
  • Experience with desktop GIS software and web-based GIS applications.
