About the position

We are looking for a talented developer to create an interactive visualization tool for 3D meshes generated from computer vision-based reconstruction pipelines. The ideal candidate should have experience in 3D graphics programming, mesh processing, and real-time rendering, and be capable of integrating advanced image analysis techniques for contour segmentation and mapping segmented contours onto 3D point clouds for enhanced visualization.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced image analysis techniques for accurate contour segmentation.
  • Develop an interactive tool for visualizing 3D meshes reconstructed from multi-view computer vision techniques.
  • Implement rendering techniques for smooth, high-quality visualization of dense 3D models.
  • Optimize mesh handling for efficient performance on different hardware platforms.
  • Integrate functionalities such as texture mapping, lighting effects, and camera controls.
  • Work with cross-functional technical teams composed of researchers and software engineers.
  • Design, evaluate and deploy developed algorithms.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have at least a bachelor's degree and currently enrolled in a Master or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field with focus on computer vision, 3D graphics programming, mesh processing, and real-time rendering.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, python.
  • Experience with 3D graphics frameworks (OpenGL, Vulkan, DirectX, or WebGL).
  • Knowledge of mesh processing libraries (e.g., Open3D, MeshLab).
  • Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal) or visualization frameworks (VTK, three.js) is a plus.
  • Understanding of GPU programming (CUDA, Optix, OpenCL).
  • Background in computer vision, computer graphics and image analysis.
  • Experience working with LiDAR, photogrammetry, or multi-view stereo datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Git for version control, including repository management, branching strategies, merging, and resolving conflicts.
