About the position

The Connectivity Services Administrator is responsible for the installation and administration of network and connectivity services applications and systems. This role involves ensuring high availability of secure networks, continuous improvement of connectivity services, and effective change management practices. The administrator will also engage in new technology research, analysis, and reporting to enhance network performance and security.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high availability of a secure network.
  • Continuously improve delivered connectivity services, processes, and service levels.
  • Implement effective change management practices for network systems integration.
  • Document infrastructure and support for IT professionals.
  • Install and maintain network hardware and system applications without impacting business capability.
  • Proactively monitor network systems to identify issues before they affect business operations.
  • Discover and install new connectivity technologies to improve performance, integrity, and security.
  • Design and build solutions following cybersecurity best practices.
  • Recommend improvements to connectivity architecture based on technology trends and enterprise needs.
  • Manage connectivity service vendors to ensure quality and service levels are met.
  • Assist in designing and implementing connectivity architecture and services.
  • Develop and monitor disaster recovery and business continuity plans for connectivity services.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to meet changing enterprise priorities.
  • Act as a change agent and mentor to maximize resource use and organizational knowledge.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 5 years of Information Technology experience, with at least 2 years in connectivity services.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Automation systems, software, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in Windows network operating systems, Microsoft Windows, and internet firewall solutions.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure components, specifically Cisco routers and switches.
  • Understanding of wide area network security and networking protocols.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with network backup utilities.
  • Familiarity with ethernet wiring and wiring closet logistics.
