Construction - Billboard Installer

About the position

The Billboard Installer position at Lamar Advertising Company is an entry-level, full-time role focused on the installation and maintenance of billboards in Lakeland, Florida, and surrounding areas. The role involves working independently to manage work schedules effectively while ensuring the safety and quality of billboard installations and maintenance. The position requires comfort with heights, as installers may work on structures up to 200 feet tall, and involves a variety of tasks including handling large advertisements, performing minor repairs, and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain billboards, including the installation of advertisements and maintenance of structures.
• Handle large advertisements printed on vinyl and ensure proper assembly to the billboard structure.
• Conduct maintenance tasks such as tightening bolts, painting steel structures, and changing light bulbs.
• Remove and hang flexes and vinyls, cut and prepare materials for installation, and conduct storm damage repairs.
• Maintain operation vehicles and construction tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Attend safety meetings and adhere to safety regulations during installations.
• Document installations through photographs and written logs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Ability to complete OSHA 10-hour Construction course is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to speak and read English fluently.
• Basic computer skills including Internet navigation and Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Ability to work alone and manage work schedules effectively.
• Willingness to work at heights up to 100 feet above the ground.
• Working knowledge of electrical and fabrication skills and techniques.
• Skill in reading technical documents, such as blueprints and diagrams.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience working at heights up to 200 ft. above ground preferred.
• Construction and/or billboard installation experience a plus, but not required.
• CDL and Non-CDL licenses are a plus, but not required.
