About The Position

The position involves managing all assigned substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning. In the conceptual phase, the individual will collaborate with the Early-Stage Project Manager to support engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group. The role includes training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external engineers of record for all assigned switchyard projects to ensure compliance with various agreements and industry standards. The individual will also be responsible for securing engineering consulting resources, coordinating with project stakeholders, and ensuring successful project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 7+ years experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation/switchyard projects.
• Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience.
• Strong bias for action.
• PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all assigned substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning.
• Work with the Early-Stage Project Manager to support engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group.
• Train and oversee external engineers of record for compliance with generation interconnection agreements and industry standards.
• Secure engineering consulting resources by developing scopes of work, securing bids, and awarding work.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders and transmission owners to develop and secure switchyard sites.
• Source and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services.
• Represent E&C's interests on assigned projects and present progress and issues to management.
• Support Transmission Services during the review of interconnection documentation and ensure compliance with ISO requirements.
