About The Position

ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Assistant Staff Professional to join their Brookfield team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work under experienced professionals, performing various tasks related to construction materials testing and project management. The position involves both fieldwork and some office tasks, providing a comprehensive learning experience in the construction industry.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Earth Sciences, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 4 years of relevant experience conducting construction materials testing in the field or a lab, or 2 years of relevant experience with a degree.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
• Interest in project management, consulting, and business development.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Sound understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Functional knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff with field tasks supporting various construction materials testing projects.
• Perform field testing of materials including soils, aggregates, foundations, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, structural steel, asphalt pavement, and fireproofing.
• Document site observations and results in daily reports using proprietary software for CMT projects.
• Interact and collaborate with colleagues and clients, keeping the project team informed of changing site conditions and additional testing requests.
• Attend project meetings as requested and begin to learn how to classify soil.
